Get Eclipse: All American Eclipse August 21st

NASA’s Total Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017

On August 21st, 2017 a solar eclipse will be visible from much of the continental United States.  Butte will experience an eclipse of up to 90% at its apex at 11:33 am.  Since this eclipse will only be view-able from the US, it is being called the All American Eclipse.  This phenomenon will not occur again until 2024–so be sure to catch it this year!

The Butte-Silver Bow Public Library will host a viewing party at our uptown branch on August 21st from 11:00 am to noon.  Information on eclipses, activities, and eclipse glasses will be available.
