Get Eclipse: All American Eclipse August 21st

NASA’s Total Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017

On August 21st, 2017 a solar eclipse will be visible from much of the continental United States.  Butte will experience an eclipse of up to 90% at its apex at 11:33 am.  Since this eclipse will only be view-able from the US, it is being called the All American Eclipse.  This phenomenon will not occur again until 2024–so be sure to catch it this year!

The Butte-Silver Bow Public Library will host a viewing party at our uptown branch on August 21st from 11:00 am to noon.  Information on eclipses, activities, and eclipse glasses will be available.  Patrons with library cards who cannot attend can pick up viewing glasses and safety tips at the library starting August 1st.
